Official Holiday Sources

  1. This calendar is based on the following sources:
    • (1)  Bank holidays announced by the Bank of Thailand (the central bank) for financial institutions in the previous year.
      The Bank of Thailand "Financial Institutions Holiday"
    • (2)  Public sector holidays, including the Royal Ploughing Ceremony and Khao Phansa Day (with dates varying each year).
    • (3)  Other public holidays as determined by the government in cabinet meetings.
  2. Additional or adjusted holidays may be announced during the year based on cabinet decisions.
  3. According to Section 29 of the Labour Protection Act, private companies must designate at least 13 holidays annually for employees, including National Labour Day. These holidays should be based on official public holidays, religious holidays, or local traditional holidays.

Notes

  1. The background color of the calendar means:
    • Orange… Public holidays
    • Yellow … For employees in the private sector.
    • Green  … For employees in the public sector.
    • Blue   … Special additional holiday
  2. If a statutory holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, in principle, the next working day will be a substitute holiday. However, if the holidays are consecutive, the government or central bank will decide on a case-by-case basis whether to grant a substitute holiday.
  3. The year 2024 corresponds to 2567 Thai calendar.
