Official Holiday Sources

  1. Presidential Decree on Public Holidays for Government Officials (Applicable to private companies with 5 or more regular employees):
    “Presidential Decree No. 33448 on Regulations for Public Holidays of Government Agencies” (Effective May 4, 2023)
  2. Legal Basis for Labor Day (May 1):
    “Act on Designation of Laborers' Day” (Effective January 1, 2021)

Notes

  1. If Seollal or Chuseok holidays fall on a Sunday, they are observed on the following weekday.
  2. If Independence Day, Children's Day, Buddha's Birthday, Liberation Day, National Foundation Day, Hangeul Proclamation Day or Christmas Day fall on a Saturday or Sunday, they are observed on the following weekday.
  3. For other holidays, there are no substitute holidays observed.
